Be fully compliant and safe with Total Fire Protection, the trusted provider of UL/FM Listed and also QCD-Approved fire pumps. Ranging up to the tall towers of West Bay to the Doha Industrial Area warehouses, we provide the high-performance fire-fighting pump sets depending on the harsh climate of Qatar. Every fire protection system is designed within the standards of the NFPA 20 and has the high standards of approval of the Qatar Civil Defence Department (QCDD).
A fire pump is the major part of a fire firefighting system. Commonly, it comes as a set of pumps which includes Diesel pump, Electrical Pump & a Jockey Pump and is powered by electric or diesel. As per the Qatar Civil Defence regulation the pump intake is commonly connected to the water tank. The pump provides water flow at a higher pressure to the sprinkler system risers and hose standpipes. A fire pump is tested and listed for its use specifically for fire service by a third-party testing and listing agency, such as UL or FM Global. The main code that governs fire pump installations in Qatar is National Fire Protection Association’s NFPA 20 Standard for the Installation of Stationary Fire Pumps for Fire Protection.
The fire pump starts when the pressure in the fire sprinkler system drops below a threshold. The sprinkler system pressure drops significantly when one or more fire sprinklers are exposed to heat above their design temperature, and opens, releasing water. Alternately, other fire hose reels or other firefighting connections are opened, causing a pressure drop in the firefighting main.
Fire Pump Systems built for Qatar’s environment
Our products include the full line of centrifugal fire pumps used to meet high-pressure requirements of skyscrapers and industrial plants in Qatar.
Horizontal Split Case Fire Pumps
Horizontal split case fire pumps are best suited for high rise towers, hotels and district cooling plants. This type of fire pumps are mostly preferred in Qatar because of the high flow rates that it offers (as high as 5000 GPM) to large-scale fire protection networks.
As for maintenance, split case fire pumps can be easily accessed without removal of heavy piping in large mechanical rooms.
End Suction Fire Pumps
End suction fire pumps are ideally suited for commercial villas, schools, and medium-sized offices. It is smaller in size so it fits in small pump rooms with limited space.
Vertical Turbine Fire Pumps
Vertical turbine fire pumps are used in projects that utilize underground water tanks or cisterns that are typical in industrial areas. In these fire pumps, water rises at a bottom grade and there is positive suction pressure.
Containerized Fire Pump Rooms
The containerized fire pump room is one type of fire room that is very much represented in the trend of the fire pump rooms in the modern world and may be found in many television programs and movies.
Ideal In Construction sites, temporary facilities, and oil and gas fields.
A plug-and-play solution – completely assembled, wired, and piped in a standard container and ready to be inspected immediately by QCD.
Diesel engine Fire Pumps vs. Electric motor fire pumps for Qatar’s climate
Reliability of fire pumps can’t be negotiated in the heat of Qatar. Our fire pump drivers are made tropicalized to work in hot ambient temperatures.
Electric motor driven fire pumps have motors with high efficiency and are built according to the standards of Kahramaa power.
Diesel engine driven fire pumps are supplied with heavy-duty heat exchangers and cooling loops to avoid overheating, which is necessary in cases of the need to have power as a backup source.
Jockey pumps hold system pressure constant, eliminating the unwarranted cycling of the main pumps as a result of small pressure variations or heat build-up in the pipes.
Compliance & Certification (The QCD Standard)
The performance of a fire pump in Qatar is pegged on paperwork. All of our units are certified to be able to pass the Civil Defense inspection. All our fire pumps will have the following standards and certifications:
QCDD Approval: approved All models are either pre-approved or can be approved on a project-specific basis.
UL Listed/ FM Approved: Worldwide certification of insurance and safety standards.
NFPA 20: Fire Protection Stationary Pumps Installation Standard.
NFPA 70 (NEC): Fire controllers and panels electrical compliance.
